Artplace's Doug Simpson has a BA in Art Education. He offers classes in mixed media sculpting using fabric hardeners, epoxie clays, canvas, wood, fabric, and other materials in our Creative Learning Center in Denison, TX.

The Artplace Mixed Media Specialist certification is an extensive program that covers fine art design and techniques in creating 3-d sculpture with the amazing and versatile Paverpol and Powertex product line. Creating fine sculpture is not following a pattern, plan, or class project, but involves one's mind, emotions, and motor skills to turn ideas into physical reality.

The AMMS program offered at Artplace is designed to get a novice started in a new and rewarding hobby or career as well as give the professional a whole new direction and method of creating art.

Certification is based on skill levels, ability to develop a body of work, and demonstration of covered techniques. Even without certification, the class will give you mulitple ways to create great art.

These techniques allow anyone to create an original work of art …a free standing sculpture, a wall sculpture, a mixed media painting and much more.

Paverpol and Powertex are two of the World’s top product of its type. Imported from Holland and Belgium they are one of North America’s hottest new products for creative people.

Combine those with self-hardening clays and true metal finishes for bronze and iron and you have an endless stream of creative possibilities.
